Lead Scientist II (Genome Diagnostics and Precision Health)
The incumbent will assume the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and streamline the daily operations of the genome curation team and supervise genome curators
- Lead the development of in-house training course on data curation to provide on-the-job training
- Perform genome data curation and interpret genome sequencing results using current international standards, finalise and sign-off research reports
- Co-ordinate multi-disciplinary team meetings with internal and external parties
- Lead the development and implementation of short-read and/or long-read sequencing workflows, including working with bioinformaticians to establish a bioinformatics pipeline and deploying tertiary tools to facilitate genome curation
- Co-ordinate collaborative disease-cohort projects for the main phase of HKGP and provide technical guidance on genomic technologies
- Contribute to research outputs related to genome curation and laboratory activities
- Coordinate with management to set priorities and goals to ensure efficient project executions

Requirements:
We are seeking a high-calibre candidate for the post of Lead Scientist II (Genome Diagnostics and Precision Health) who possesses:
- A master’s degree or above in medical sciences, genomics, bioinformatics or related disciplines
- Preferably with 2 years of supervisory experience
- Preferably with 5 years of working experience in analysing next generation sequencing, including exome sequencing, genome sequencing and other omics
- Preferably with experience in establishing long-read sequencing workflows and bioinformatics pipelines
- Preferably with experience in genome research resulting in publications in international peer-review journals
- Preferably with working experience in multi-disciplinary team consisting of clinicians, bioinformaticians and laboratory scientists
- Good written Chinese and English and fluency in spoken Cantonese; strong written English is an advantage

Assistant Manager (Infrastructure)

- Provide direction and implement Information Technology (IT) infrastructure for the Hong Kong Genome Project within allocated resources

Requirements:
We are seeking a high-calibre candidate for the post of Assistant Manager (Infrastructure) who possesses:
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
- Preferably 5 years’ work experience in IT, of which at least 3 years in IT Infrastructure
- Solid experience in system administration of inhouse on-premises and cloud environment
- Familiarity with Cloud products, resources, and resilience setup
- Familiarity with Linux-based servers, virtualisation and container software such as Kubernetes and Docker Containers

Associate Medical Technologist
Reporting to the Medical Technologist, the incumbent will assume the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and analyse clinical specimens via molecular testing methods following standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Perform patient sample handling and processing, including whole blood, buccal swab, saliva, tumour and normal tissues
- Perform DNA / RNA extraction from various clinical tissue samples
