Manager (Corporate Communications)

 

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, the incumbent will perform the following responsibilities to enhance HKGI’s brand awareness and foster public understanding of genomic medicine by planning and implementing a wide range of publicity initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Produce high-quality corporate publications and multimedia content such as annual reports, thematic videos, e-cards, branding items etc; work closely with internal and external stakeholders to handle the production end-to-end from creative concept to layout and printing.
  • Plan and organise corporate events, visits and publicity activities; manage budget, schedule, logistics and post-event follow-ups to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Devise detailed execution plan for launching, maintaining and monitoring HKGl’s social media platform to enhance the lnstitute’s online presence and brand awareness.
  • Manage vendors proactively to ensure the delivery of quality services and products that fit HKGl’s operational needs.
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of HKGl’s publicity plan and development of corporate messages.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by senior officers.

 

Requirements:

We are seeking a high-calibre candidate for the post of Manager (Corporate Communications) who possesses:

 

  • A university degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related disciplines.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience; experience in sizable public organisations will be an advantage.
  • Solid experience and knowledge in design, printing and video production; familiar with relevant workflow, vendor management and budget control.
  • Track record of planning and organising corporate and community events, visits as well as publicity campaigns targeting both the general public and professionals.
  • Solid experience in setting up and managing social media platforms such as Linked In and Face book.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proactive and self-driven; able to work independently under pressure and in a dynamic setting.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; keen attention to details; resourceful and able to multi-task.

System & Infrastructure Manager (Risk Management)

 

Reporting to the Project Lead of the Security Risk Assessment and Audit (SRAA) project, the incumbent will assume the following responsibilities:

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the execution of the SRAA process, ensuring ongoing compliance with internal policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Organise and implement activities to identify control gaps and mitigate technology risks as part of the SRAA exercise, including evaluating vulnerabilities, testing system resilience, and conducting drills.
  • Perform assessments on systems and infrastructure to maintain robust IT risk management.
  • Establish requirements for information protection during application, system, and network implementations, in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Support IT operations related to governance and assurance, including access management, monitoring, incident response, and reporting, aligning with the objectives of the risk assessment and audit programme.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations related to IT risk management, overseeing event monitoring, vulnerability management, and performance optimisation of tools and systems.
  • Provide recommendations to management on advancements in technology, emerging threats, and preventive measures through continuous research, contributing to the enhancement of the risk assessment and audit processes.

Requirements:

 

We are seeking high-calibre candidate for the post of System & Infrastructure Manager (Risk Management) who possesses:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related discipline
  • Experience in supporting and executing security risk assessment and audit processes, including knowledge of methodologies and tools utilised in these processes.
  • Strong understanding of IT risk management principles and practices, including risk assessment, mitigation, and control implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and frameworks related to IT risk management, such as ISO 27001.
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing risk management strategies for IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with IT security technologies and controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, access controls, and vulnerability management tools.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess potential risks and vulnerabilities in IT environments.
  • Professional certifications in IT risk management, such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CEH, CDPSE.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Medical Technologist / Associate Medical Technologist

Associate Medical Technologist reports to Medical Technologist
Medical Technologist reports to Lead Scientist (Genome Diagnostics and Precision Health)

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform daily and routine laboratory operations, equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Process and analyse clinical specimens by molecular testing methods following standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Extract DNA/RNA from clinical tissue samples (e.g., whole blood, buccal swab, saliva, tumour, and normal tissues) and perform cell culture work
  • Conduct quality control (QC), library preparation and operate next / third generation sequencing systems, laboratory equipment and analysers
  • Assist in implementing QC, documentation, internal audit and external quality assurance programmes to meet the accreditation standards
  • Aid in developing new protocols and evaluating new sequencing technologies
  • Participate in research and development activities
  • Perform any other duties assigned by senior officers

 

Additional Duties for Medical Technologist

  • Monitor laboratory daily operations, workload, quality, and quantity for HKGP
  • Supervise and train AMT in research and development
  • Evaluate and develop methodologies in cell culture, conventional and molecular cytogenetics and molecular genetic tests
  • Assist in preparing SOPs, evaluating method and instrument and developing next/third-generation sequencing technology
  • Coordinate with service providers for alignment

 

Requirements:

Associate Medical Technologist:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or relevant in Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, Biology or related disciplines
  • A Certificate of Registration (MLT Part II) and valid Practising Certificate issued by the Medical Laboratory Technologists Board, Hong Kong (MLT Board)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in genetic research or medical laboratories with provision of genetic testing
  • Preferably 2-3 years of working experience in short and / or long-read sequencing, including QC and preliminary data analysis
  • Experience in quality management system, such as quality assurance, development of SOP and operation manual

 

Medical Technologist

  • A Master’s degree in Biological Science, Laboratory Science, or related disciplines
  • A Certificate of Registration (MLT Part I) and valid Practising Certificate issued by the Medical Laboratory Technologists Board, Hong Kong (MLT Board)
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in an accredited medical laboratory, preferably with provision of conventional cytogenetics and molecular genetic testing
  • Preferably 2-3 years of working experience in short and / or long-read sequencing, including QC and preliminary data analysis
  • Experience in quality management system, such as quality assurance, development of SOP and operation manual

  • Conduct news monitoring; build and maintain strong relationship with the media and other key stakeholders
  • Develop corporate messages and write-ups, such as speeches, sponsored articles, press materials and Q&As

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in full stack development, with expertise in at least two of the following:
    • Proficiency in React, Typescript and Node.js, with experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
    • Demonstrated experience in designing or implementing CI/CD pipelines
    • Solid experience in designing enterprise-level systems architecture
  • Solid experience in UX/UI design will be advantageous
  • Demonstrated maturity, self-motivation, and a strong determination to succeed
