Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the incumbent will assume the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Human Resources (HR) and Talent Development team to deliver full spectrum of HR functions, including talent attraction, acquisition and retention, employee relations and engagement, compensation and benefits, performance management, and training and development
- Partner with senior leadership to plan manpower resources, develop workforce plans and succession plans, and provide strategic HR advice that aligns with organisational strategies
- Lead talent acquisition initiatives to attract and retain top talent through innovative sourcing strategies, strong employer branding, and proactive candidate pipeline development
- Formulate and implement HR strategies, policies, and frameworks that enhance organisational effectiveness, employee engagement, and talent management
- Review and optimise compensation and benefits schemes to ensure fairness, competitiveness and alignment with business needs
- Ensure HR policies, systems, and practices comply with the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and all relevant statutory requirements
- Coordinate internal and external HR audits, ensuring adherence to governance, compliance, and best practice standards

- Promote a positive, inclusive and collaborative workplace culture that fosters scientific excellence, innovation and employee well-being
- Prepare and present HR reports and updates to Committees, and the Board of Directors as required

Requirements:
We are seeking a high-calibre candidate for the post of Senior Manager (Human Resources and Talent Development) who possesses:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
- At least 12 years of broad human resources experience, gained within sizable organisations or public bodies, of which at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity
- Experience within the life sciences, research, academic, or healthcare sectors is strongly preferred, with an understanding of the challenges in recruiting and retaining specialised staff
- Excellent strategic thinking and influencing skills, with the ability to provide credible advice to senior leadership and managers
- Good knowledge of Hong Kong employment laws and HR best practices
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems

Research Assistant (Genome Curation) - Expired
Reporting to Research Officer (Genome Curation), the incumbent will assume the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and managing genome curation platform for next-generation sequencing (NGS) data
- Support the research officer in developing processes or models for variant prioritisation
- Receive training in tertiary analysis for whole genome sequencing (WGS) data, which includes (a) variant filtering and prioritisation (b) classification, and (c) selection of reportable variants
- Assist in data mining, curation, and interpretation of genome sequencing results according to current international standards
- Generate plots and figures to assist in the presentation of results
- Conduct basic literature reviews, research, and perform related clerical duties
- Participate in research and development activities

Requirements:
We are seeking a high-calibre candidate for the post of Research Assistant (Genome Curation) who possesses:
- A bachelor’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Genetic Sciences, Health Sciences, Medical Statistics, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Basic knowledge and experience in research studies, with a willingness to receive on-the-job training.
- Familiarity with NGS technology and its data formats is preferred.
- Proficiency in coding in Python or R, and data-wrangling skills such as extracting information from VCF files and manipulating data structures are desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Cantonese (spoken) and English (written); strong written English is an advantage
- Strong teamwork and collaboration mindset.
- Experience in genome research resulting in publications in international peer-reviewed journals is preferred.
- Knowledge or experience in the analysis of cancer genomes, single-cell sequencing, and long-read sequencing data is a plus.

Associate Medical Technologist - Expired
Reporting to the Medical Technologist, the incumbent will assume the following responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Process and analyse clinical specimens via molecular testing methods following standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Perform patient sample handling and processing, including whole blood, buccal swab, saliva, tumour and normal tissues
- Perform DNA / RNA extraction from various clinical tissue samples
- Perform quality control (QC) and library preparation, and operate next / third generation sequencing systems, laboratory equipment and analysers

- A bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences, biochemistry, biology or related disciplines
- A certificate of Registration (MLT Part II) and a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Medical Laboratory Technologists Board, Hong Kong
- At least 2 years of relevant experience working in a genetic research laboratory or medical laboratory providing genetic testing. Fresh graduates with relevant laboratory training and a positive learning attitude may also be considered
- Preferably working experience in short and / or long-read sequencing technology
- Experience in quality management systems, such as quality assurance, development of SOP and operation manual, is an advantage
